ABOUT

The stadium opened August 26th, 2017 and was set to replace the Georgia Dome. The stadium cost about $1.5 billion to create and took approximately three years to build. This stadium is unique because of its falcon's wing shaped roof. The roof is designed like a camera lens and can open and close in the matter of 7 minutes. The stadiums capacity can reach up to 81,000 for NFL games and 32,000 for MLS games. They are said to have the largest video board compared to most stadiums, their 58-foot-tall HD video board towers over the field, which gives fans a 360-degree coverage of the games. "Window to the City" is a famous term used to describe how the fans can get a sky view look of the city from their seats.

CITIZENS POV ON THE STADIUM

“I just believe the public is getting screwed on the deal,” Kendall said. "The Falcons aren’t paying the $26 million they should be paying, and everyone else will have to make up the difference.” - Wayne Kendall
-Since the stadium was built they were exempted from property taxes and local residents feel like the stadium should be paying towards city, school and county fund taxes.
-After the stadium was built, Fulton county residents tax bills skyrocketed.

RICH MCKAY (PRESIDENT AND CEO OF FALCONS) POV

"Arthur's theory going in was, let's not look at stadium locations. Let's not go look at where we might put a stadium for the best economics. Let's realize we're gonna put the stadium downtown and we're gonna try to put it right in the heart of downtown." - Rich McKay
-He felt like he can make an impact on the neighborhoods that were in the west of ATL.
-They felt like they could rebuild a city a poor city and make change to it.
-They had companies such as Chick-Fil-A invest in the community and they gave jobs to about 80 people from that community.
