CONCLUSION
- Samar and Makayla are locals in the Atlanta area and additionally we are all residents of Georgia which is located relatively in the South compared to other states in the U.S. South as a place and space is one of the modules we covered in this course. We thought this topic would be fit because Vine City and English Avenue, surrounding the Mercedes-Benz stadium, are two of the poorest neighborhoods in the Southeastern U.S.
- Focusing on the concept of space and place, we wanted to choose a topic in which we could reflect Atlanta as a place through the significant architecture and commercialization. If this stadium wasn't placed where it is, the surrounding areas would not be receiving the impactful help that they are.
- The main goal of the construction of the stadium wasn't solely for entertainment but also to bring back the one welcoming and progressing community that was once there. The stadium is placed to transform the surrounding neighborhoods to be inclusive and not primarily exclusive.
